YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG: Old Hippies & New Hippies have a slap-fight!!1!

It’s long, full of hippies and hippie flowery language, BUT at least it’s not in Smell-O-Vision cuz we all know hippies stink….so, unless you’ve got an extra 23 minutes of your life laying around (that you’ll NEVER get back), I suggest you skip ahead to the 20:50-mark…
And now the backlash…backlash of the super ironical variety…

There is a great deal of momentum to protect Montana’s most important heritage, but we won’t get there by reinforcing the idea that environmentalism is dominated by those who are unreasonable and irrational. Today’s protest/performance art only reinforces those ideas, and damagingly so.

Much more like “regressive” when over-privileged white kids trash the people’s property because they aren’t getting their way.
And I’m sitting back, laughing because this is funny on so many levels.
[Off topic] I hate to say it, but Wulfy’s right [cringe]…they are a bunch of “over-privileged white kids” and more than likely grew up in conservative households giving them the financial means to carry out their crusades and act the way they do…but that’s a different topic for a different day. I find it ironic that the “old guard” of the Progressive movement is pissed at what went down in the capitol. These kids are doing exactly what they’ve been taught. Film, music and literature regarding the progressive movement of the 1960s has shown clearly how to “get things done”, when dealing with “The Man” or “The Establishment”. Progs are artsy, don’tcha know?! Every word of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, every frame of Easy Rider, every note from Joan Baez leads up to this moment in time. This was their moment. They were not gonna back down. They were gonna stand up…and, ummm…climb on a table…yeah…and dance to rag-time!!1! RAAAWWWWWWR!! FIGHT THE POWER!!!!111!!1!
These kids voted for Hope AND Change, and they’re not happy with the speed at which the “Change” is occurring. So they’re taking matters into their own hands. INITIATIVE FTW!!1!
All societal standards and social norms are out the window when it comes to Progressives. This is what the Old Guard has forgotten. They may have grown up and discovered some adult habits and political skills, but the younger crowd is trying get noticed- reality be damned!!1! Whether it be the dirty-assed, “we-can-smell-you-coming-from-15-yards-away” hippies or the limp-wristed, skinny-jean wearing, ironic mustache sporting hipster; hippies do what they wanna do. You squares can go back to your square lives…they’re trying to shake up the system, maaaaaan.
In closing:
Oh yeah, by the way, The USA Today has picked-up on the story….the cop on the right looks like he’s trying to deal with crying 4-year-olds. Pretty sweet, eh?!
