And while we’re on the topic of wasteful Government spending….

I present to you Montanan’s in Action Legistats.
Legistats is a legislator ranking service sponsored by Montanan’s In Action.
Legislators are ranked by the total spending they have voted for, as well as the number of full-time positions legislation they have voted for has created. Alternatively, legislators can be ranked by the total appropriations by bills they have sponsored.
As opposed to The Old Man from Scene 24’s Rob Natelson’s TAB “ratings” which were totally awesome & useful lame & a waste of bandwidth (IMHO) and based on too few pieces of legislation, the Legistats ratings account for every dollar spent and saved by each individual legislator. All floor votes and committee votes are also presented.
Using what Legistats refers to as the “Honor Roll most fiscally responsible”, we can view the cream of the crop of fiscal responsibility. #1 on the list of 100 members of the House is Joel Boniek (R-HD 61) who voted to “spend” $-430,097,653, voting against spending $430 million of tax-payer money. To continue the example, let’s look at #52 on the list, the lowest rating received by a Republican (being as it’s a 50/50 house, sitting 52nd overall means that two Democrats bested spending-wise, way to go!) Gordon Hendrick (R-HD14) voted to increase spending to the total of $430,852,967.
From what little I’ve perused it, I’m extremely impressed with the job done. If you care at all about the process and what goes down in Helena, I suggest you give it a look.
Saying you’re a conservative is one thing…actually being one is something entirely different.
That is all.
